The Kirtland Temple is a National Historic Landmark in Kirtland, Ohio, USA, on the eastern edge of the Cleveland metropolitan area. Owned and operated by the Community of Christ, formerly the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS), the house of worship was the first temple to be built by adherents of the Latter Day Saint movement. The design mixes Federal, Greek Revival and Gothic Revival architectural styles.〔Chiat, Marilyn, ''North American Churches'', Publishers International, Ltd.: 2004, p. 71.〕 ==Present day== Each year tens of thousands take tours of the temple.〔Laurie Williams Sowby (5 September 2009). (Kirtland's history interwoven with the Restoration ). ''Church News'' published by Deseret News Publishing Corporation. Last accessed 27 January 2009.〕 Members of various Latter Day Saint denominations also travel to the temple where the Community of Christ allows them to hold 50 to 60 worship services and educational events each year. There are also community Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Holy Week services that are held at the temple each year. A Spiritual Formation and Visitors' Center has been constructed by the Community of Christ. The center, opened in March 2007 and dedicated on 9 June 2007, enhances the worship, educational, and administrative ministries of the temple by providing classroom space, worship space, a multi-use theater and offices. The center features the Kirtland Temple Museum with historical and contemporary exhibits relating to the temple, early important leaders, the Latter Day Saint Movement, and the Community of Christ today. There is also a museum gift shop. A historic cemetery and gardens are located outside the temple. The center's basic layout has been described by some as reflecting a dove. The center reflects various characteristics of the temple in its visual appearance. Each day at 1pm in the Spiritual Formation Center the Daily Prayer for Peace is held based on the Daily Prayer for Peace at the Independence Temple. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Kirtland Temple」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
